What information do we collect?

At Insignia Education Blue (IEB) we are committed to collecting only the information necessary to provide our educational services. Platform forms disclose, next to each field, the purpose for which that data is collected.

How do we protect your information?

Your information is stored in encrypted databases and all communications with our servers travel encrypted. Fields you mark as public on your profile are only shown if your profile is configured as public.

When do we share your information?

We only share what's necessary for the service to work, depending on your role:

  • Student: your username and full name are shared with your teacher and course classmates.
  • Teacher: your username and full name are shared with your students.
  • Educational center: the information necessary for the academic management of its students is shared.
  • Organizations: the information necessary for the management of its members is shared.

Our administrative staff can access, depending on their role:

  • Email, phone, and other contact methods
  • Notification preferences
  • Payment history and billing data
  • Courses in progress and courses taught
  • Live session recordings
  • Two-factor authentication (2FA) status
  • External login connections (Google, etc.)
  • Session history, including IP, location, and timestamp
  • Academic activity data
  • Any other information you have provided

Our staff will never ask for your password. Your sensitive information is never shared with third parties except as stated in this policy; it is used internally only.

How do we use your information?

Besides providing the service, we use aggregated and anonymized information (country of residence, number of courses, form data, campaign UTM parameters, payments, and live sessions) to generate statistics and improve the platform. This aggregated information does not identify you individually.

Cookies and third-party tools

We use first-party and third-party cookies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel) for analytics and advertising. The latter are non-essential and are only activated if you give explicit consent in the cookie banner shown when you enter the site. See the details in our Cookie Policy.

International data transfer

Our infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers in the us-east-2 region (Ohio, United States). By using the platform, your data is transferred to and stored in that country. We apply the security measures described in this policy regardless of the server's location.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Access records (session history, IP) and marketing campaign data (UTM) are kept for a maximum of 12 months, after which they are automatically deleted even if your account remains active. If you request deletion of your account, we follow the process described in our Data Deletion Policy.

Your rights

You can exercise the following rights by writing to info@insigniaeducation.com:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate or outdated data.
  • Erasure ("right to be forgotten"): request deletion of your account and your data.
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, commonly used format (JSON), or as a PDF.
  • Objection and restriction: object to the use of your data for marketing or analytics purposes.
  • Withdraw consent: at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

We will respond to your request within a maximum of 30 days. If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you may file a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence.

Minors

If the user is under 13, consent from their legal guardian is required before the account can be used. When a minor's birth date is registered, we send a consent request to the listed guardian's email; the account stays inactive until they confirm.
